Small team. Big ambition. Huge opportunity.

Uncapped with accelerators above target
Remote, UK-based, reporting to the Head of Growth.  Once a month visit to the office in Somerset

Within ten years, Wahoo Learning intends to be a £12M to £18M business and the global leader in turning underperforming channel ecosystems into high-growth partner networks. The route there runs from £2.2M today to £4M inside three years and £6M to £9M inside five.

One thing stands between us and that: a consistent, predictable pipeline of new business. That is why this role exists, and it is the most important hire we will make this year.

What's in it for you

Most business development roles are about maintaining a number somebody else built. This one is about building it.

You would be joining at the point where the strategy is set, the delivery is proven, and the growth is still ahead, which is the rarest and most valuable moment to join a business. Get this right and you will be able to point at a business and say, with evidence, that you were the reason it doubled.

This is not a punt on an early-stage idea. We have spent more than 20 years helping channel-led organisations across the UK and US train, engage and grow their partner networks, taking global enterprises from a few hundred partners to tens of thousands. We combine eLearning content production, our own learning platform and managed services; we are profitable and established. Delivery credibility is built. The growth engine is what we are hiring you to build.

The role

This is a genuine end-to-end new business role with real ownership. You will create your own opportunities and carry them through discovery, proposal, demonstration, negotiation and close, working alongside marketing and delivery. You will report to our Head of Growth, and in a business of our size the Managing Director is genuinely accessible, so when a deal needs a decision or a view from the top, you will get one quickly.

We are specific about what success looks like, because you deserve to know that before you apply:

  • A minimum of eight new clients, at an average contract value of £30,000
  • A minimum of £240,000 in new business revenue
  • A minimum of £300,000 in live qualified pipeline — ten active opportunities — sustained from the end of Q2
  • Closing one new client per month by the end of year one

Those numbers connect. Marketing will back you with targeting, campaigns and content, and there is inbound to work with. What we need from you is the ability to hit that number without waiting for it.

How the work gets done matters just as much. Every lead answered within one working day. Every opportunity in the CRM with an accurate value, close date and a dated next action. A weekly forecast we can rely on, including when the news is bad. Nothing goes cold because nobody came back to it.

What we're looking for

A track record in B2B new business that you can evidence with numbers rather than adjectives. Be ready to tell us your target against your actual for each of the last three years, and what proportion of the business you closed came from pipeline you generated yourself.

Beyond that, we are looking for someone organised to the point of being slightly irritating about it, honest about their pipeline including when it is thin, credible with senior stakeholders inside complex organisations, and a little obsessive about hitting a number they have agreed to.

Experience in training, eLearning, SaaS, professional services or channel enablement is an advantage. An understanding of partner and channel ecosystems will put you well ahead.

What you'll benefit from

  • Uncapped commission with accelerators once you pass target
  • Genuine ownership of new business within a growing organisation
  • Real influence over strategy and how our proposition develops
  • Exposure to enterprise decision-makers and strategic partner programmes
  • Remote-first working within a close-knit team
  • Company pension scheme
  • Private medical insurance, including dental and optical cover
  • 31 days paid leave, including bank holidays
  • Regular training and dedicated personal development time
